Some people never really stop asking why.

We notice things. We question things. We look a little closer. Sometimes we overthink things. And whether that curiosity takes us into a lab, a classroom, the field, or simply down an unnecessarily deep rabbit hole at 1 a.m., it changes the way we see the world.

THE LAB CULT was made for those people.

I’m Natalie, a PhD biologist and scientific editor turned small business owner (and fellow person who can’t stop thinking about how things work). I started THE LAB CULT while on mat leave because I wanted science-inspired shirts that felt less like conference merch and more like something I’d genuinely want to wear.

Here, science is less about having all the answers and more about staying curious enough to keep asking questions.

Our designs draw from real science, nature, observation, uncertainty, and the quietly funny experience of being a person who thinks about things perhaps a little too much. The result is thoughtful, wearable clothing for people who see curiosity as part of who they are.

We make our tees to order and fulfill them locally (in Canada for Canadian orders and in the US for American orders), which helps us avoid producing piles of clothing that may never find a home.

THE LAB CULT is for researchers and students, naturalists and educators, overthinkers and observers--and anyone else who looks at the world and wants to understand it a little better.
